BED-STUY - Dozens of families gathered in Bed-Stuy Saturday for the first annual Spring in the Stuy festival on Gates Avenue.

The festival was organized by La Cima Elementary Charter School and the nonprofit art advocate FOKUS.

Children did art projects, jumped rope and danced. There was Zumba and yoga classes for adults. Students' poetry was also on display.

Organizers from the school say the whole idea of the festival is to bring the Bed-Stuy community together doing healthy activities.

Organizers say they hope to make the festival an annual tradition.
