BROOKLYN - Approximately 54 minutes after the ball dropped in Times Square on New Year?s Day, the first newborn was born in Brooklyn in 2008.
Chaim Mozes says his baby?s due date was Jan. 2. However, Mozes says he and his wife joked about their baby being born on New Year?s Day ? never dreaming it would happen. Now, Mozes says he has a jump start on getting to know his son.
The boy was born at Maimonides Medical Center.
Mozes says he and his wife have a name picked out for their son, but Jewish tradition dictates they can?t share it with the world for eight days. The boy?s name will be announced at his bris.
