BROOKLYN - The first lunchtime school concert series was held today in Brooklyn.

The free shows, held at Borough Hall Plaza, highlight the borough's commitment to arts education.

Today's performances included the concert string orchestra of I.S. 259 in Bay Ridge, the drum line of M.S. 534 in Bedford-Stuyvesant and the step team of Brooklyn Collegiate School in Brownsville.

More lunchtime concert series are planned for the rest of May and June.

The concerts will take place on Thursdays and begin at noon.
