Flatbush Avenue one step closer to receiving face lift

BROOKLYN - The North Flatbush Business Improvement District is looking to improve pedestrian safety on Flatbush Avenue by expanding the triangles with greenery that run along the avenue.

The BID is also looking to add more trees, benches and new lighting. Due to these changes, some side streets will lose car space, but the BID is quick to say that traffic will not change.

Currently, the BID has $3 million for the project, courtesy of elected officials and the Department of Transportation and says the project should be completed in five years.
