FLATBUSH - A tenant living at 105 Winthrop St. in Flatbush is demanding something be done about the living conditions since she has been without heat for the past month.

Angela Carrington says she had to send her kids to live with her mother because there has been no heat in their bedroom. She says she also had a leak in her apartment that did get fixed, and now she has a hole in the closet.

Tenants claim lack of heat and cleanliness have been an issue at the apartment complex for decades.

News 12 Brooklyn contacted United Management, the company that runs the building, and crews were immediately sent to fix the heat in Carrington's apartment.

The city's Housing, Preservation & Development says there are more than 80 open violations at the location. HPD officials say they plan to send an inspector to the housing complex Thursday.
