BROOKLYN - A Florida tomato shortage has Brooklyn residents seeing red.

An unusually cold winter in the Sunshine State is hurting the tomato crop and causing shortages. The diminishing supply has also caused prices to rise, with the cost for a pound of tomatoes rising from 79 cents to $1.49.

The tomato shortage has even reached fast-food restaurants such as Wendy's, which will only put a tomato on your burger if you ask for it.
