Food aid applications available for Sandy victims

BROOKLYN - Sandy victims in some of the hardest hit areas can apply for food assistance, starting today.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture is giving $13 million to the Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.

People who live in Red Hook and Coney Island are eligible for the program.

Residents can apply at the Clermont Avenue application center until Dec. 18.
