BUSHWICK - A 13-year-old died Saturday after a joyride on a forklift proved fatal in Bushwick.

Police say Kevin Hrcka took the forklift for a ride while waiting for his father to get off work. The forklift then flipped over and trapped him underneath.

Workers say the boy often met his father at work Saturdays at the Irving Avenue brickyard of Miron Building Supply.

Miron Building Supply officials say the forklift keys are readily available at the end of the day as workers wrap up their shifts. The owners send their condolences about the loss, but say it is against policy to allow non-workers on the site.
