BROOKLYN - Murray Hand-Werker, the man who helped turn his father's Coney hot dog stand into a nationally recognized chain, has died.

The former head of Nathan's Famous hot dogs, who was just a child when his father, Nathan, opened his business, died at the age of 89.

Hand-Werker worked in all aspects of the company and eventually led its transformation into a hot dog powerhouse.
