BAY RIDGE - Fort Hamilton High School is mourning the loss of a star athlete who passed away from cancer Monday.

The school honored Eduard Nogay at its annual sports awards banquet. Nogay was named the exceptional senior for the volleyball team this season. Nogay kept playing volleyball despite having his arm amputated.

Nogay died from a rare disease known as Epitheloid Sarcoma, just a day after his 18th birthday.
