BOERUM HILL - A 4-year-old Brooklyn boy was killed while crossing the street in Boerum Hill with his 18-year-old aunt Tuesday.

Police say Javarrice James and his aunt were hit by an SUV while crossing Third Avenue and Baltic Street. Investigators believe the driver of the Jeep Hummer may not have seen the victims crossing the street at the time of the accident.

James and his aunt were taken to New York Methodist Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. His aunt is in stable condition with a shoulder injury. No arrests have been made as police continue an investigation.
