BROOKLYN - City officials have made the process for applying for free or reduced-price school lunches much easier by using an Internet application process rather than paperwork.

With this shift in the process, costs for the Department of Education will be cut while helping the environment at the same time.

The Web site takes about 15 minutes to complete and is available in multiple languages. Parents are encouraged to browse the site to learn of other benefits children may be eligible to receive.
