BROOKLYN - Dozens of Freedom Academy students took to the streets today in an effort to keep their school open.

Protesters gathered on Nassau Street to get their message out after the school landed on the Department of Education's (DOE) list of 47 struggling institutions in danger of being phased out.

The DOE says a final decision on what will happen to the academy has not yet been made.
