CROWN HEIGHTS - Friends say two teens who were slashed in the face Friday night had previously met their attackers and exchanged insults.

Police say 17-year-old Shantayah Lewis and 16-year-old Shaquina Grant were slashed on Franklin Avenue and then ran about four blocks to their Union Street apartment. Kings County Hospital officials say Lewis remains at the facility, but Grant was treated and released.

Friends say the two teens were approached by their attackers at around 5 p.m. Friday. Hours later, a 26-year-old man held down the girls while a 19-year-old woman slashed them.

The incident is under investigation.
