BROOKLYN - A local, traditional Italian restaurant is celebrating a big milestone in a modern way.

Michael's of Brooklyn, owned by the Cacace family, opened its doors 50 years ago as a pizzeria and quickly expanded to a full-size restaurant.

The Marine Park eatery attributes its success to their homemade sauces, and took to Facebook to find out which the community enjoys the most.

Michael Cacace says their sauces are special because they use use only the freshest ingredients and pay close attention to every detail. 

Over the years, the sauces have become so popular, that they are available at grocery stores nationwide.
