THE BRONX - It was a full house at the fourth annual Domestic Violence Awareness or DiVA Talk event Wednesday at Hostos Community College in the Bronx.

During the event, panelists shared their stories of survival and lost family members. The panel was made up of experts who have tackled domestic violence through community outreach groups and education. Audience members were encouraged to voice their opinions and ask questions. Some of those who attended wanted to know about proper training for law enforcement officials. One City Council member says police officers are currently receiving sensitivity training on how to handle domestic violence calls.

The open forum was hosted by News 12?s Heather McBride. It will re-air on News 12 Brooklyn on Saturday, October 28 and Sunday, October 29.
