BROOKLYN - Family and friends said a final farewell Thursday to a Brownsville boy killed by an electric parking gate.

Yakim McDaniels, 12, was crushed to death earlier this month while playing with friends to see who could hold on to the rollup gate the longest.

The accident sparked outrage from community members who said more recreational activities are needed for kids living in the area.
