BROOKLYN - About 50 mourners gathered at Saint Bonidace Church in Downtown Brooklyn today to say goodbye to a toddler beaten to death inside his East New York foster home.

Police say they found 17-month-old Kymell Oram, birth name Louis Mosley, unconscious at his Fountain Avenue home on March 17. Kymell died 11 days later as a result of his injuries.

The boy's foster mother, Teyunna Cummings, did not attend the funeral Mass. Her 19-year-old boyfriend, Kysheen Oliver, has been arrested and charged with assault and reckless endangerment in connection with the beating, but police say those charges could now be upgraded.

Kymell's heart was donated to a 1-year-old girl in Maryland who was in need of a transplant.
