NEW YORK - It's Furry Friday and if you're looking for a fresh start in 2014, adopting a new dog or cat may be the place to start.

News 12 is featuring just two of the many furry friends who are up for adoption at Animal Care and Control.

If you're trying to find for the ideal family dog then tiny Toby might be a great fit. The 5-year-old pooch was recently surrendered by his owner, who said he's good with children.

For potentially new pet owners who prefer a feline, Kiki is 8 months old and a great beginner cat. She was also recently dropped off at the shelter, and her previous owner said she lived with both a dog and kids.

The two furry friends last featured on News 12 have been adopted. Chiquita and Chloe are now both in forever homes.
