Fundraiser for Gama Droiville
BROOKLYN - A 13-year boy who was struck in the eye by a stray bullet returned to his Brooklyn school Monday.
Gama Droiville, who was shot two weeks ago in East Flatbush, returned to Meyer Levin Junior High School.
His alleged shooter has been arrested, but Droiville’s recovery continues. He is expected to undergo more surgeries.

Councilman Jumaane Williams says Droiville's parents, who are both from Haiti, are not working and their temporary protective services can’t cover their son's medical expenses.
While they have Medicaid, they are hoping the community can help them. A fund has been established to support the teen and his family.
“We want to make sure that people don't forget the damage of gun violence," said Williams.
