BROOKLYN - Some local gardeners say they're out of hundreds of dollars in fresh-grown food and plants due to construction work in Prospect Heights.

Residents who rent space at the Saint Marks Avenue community garden say the building owners next door started putting up a concrete wall and that the construction piled over, crushing everything that had been growing there.

The gardeners say this is the busiest time for harvesting and they are considering taking legal action.
