BROOKLYN - Drivers looking to get out of town for the summer may have to shell out more money for gas.

Gas prices have been inching back up after a dip early this summer. The average price of a gallon of regular gas is now $4.08 in New York, according to AAA. The price marks an increase of 6 cents since last month.

Last year at this time, drivers were paying $2.96.
