Gerritsen Beach businesses recognized for Superstorm Sandy recovery in Best of the Strip Awards

GERRITSEN BEACH - A few Gerritsen Beach business owners are being recognized for their quick efforts to bounce back after Superstorm Sandy and for helping the neighborhood continue its recovery.

The business owners that will get recognition are Charles Hasbourne of BAD Scuba, Dan Ene of Enewhere Industries, James Donovan of Donovan OMC and Doreen Garson of Doreen Greenwood Realty.

The Best of the Strip Awards are hosted by the Local Development Corporation of East New York. The group took input from the community to pick their honorees.

The awards event comes about a month away from the one-year anniversary of the hurricane.
