Gerritsen Beach couple fear tire slashings were targeted

BROOKLYN - A Gerritsen Beach couple is fearful after they woke up to discover both their cars' tires were slashed, and their cars were parked blocks apart.

Ellen and Richard Kaufmann say one car was parked on Plumb First Street and the other was parked on the corner of Knapp Street and Allen Avenue, but both had their tires slashed.

The couple says they've filed a police report and hope that surveillance video may catch whoever damaged their cars.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
