Gerritsen Beach home being razed after fatal collapse

BROOKLYN - The house under construction that collapsed in Gerritsen Beach yesterday, killing a worker and injuring two others, is in the process of being demolished.

The Department of Buildings (DOB) ordered the house on Frank Court to be razed after the structure slid off its foundation.

According to the DOB, the foundation was not secure and could not support the two-story building. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has opened an investigation into the deadly collapse.
