BROOKLYN - A group of local Girl Scouts is petitioning to save a 110-year-old Brooklyn public library.

Troop 2657 held signs of protest in front of its beloved Pacific Branch Public Library this week, which is where the girls have been meeting for the past year.

The scouts say they're trying to get the building landmark status to save it from being torn down for new development.

The group met with the Landmarks Preservation Commission this past June, but there's no word on where the committee is in its hearing process for that library.
