PARK SLOPE - A Republican candidate vying for a Brooklyn City Council seat will appear in court Sept. 8 to face several charges linked to an alleged sex scandal.

According to documents from the Nassau County District Attorney's Office on Long Island, George Smith was charged with forcible touching, sexual misconduct, harassment and sexual abuse after an alleged incident on Dec. 28.
