BROOKLYN - Brooklyn artists are trying to expose the unexpected charm of the Gowanus area at a local art show.

Brooklyn resident Jeff Faerber is the curator and participating artist in the show called “Gowanus in Gowanus” which features 40 pieces by local painters.

Bob Weiss, who has been painting the Gowanus Canal for years, says he continues to draw new inspiration from the area as it evolves over time.

"People who may think of it as an eyesore now might look back at it with a little nostalgia,” said Weiss. “I’m hoping for that."

The show will be open until June 2 at 622 Degraw St.
