BROOKLYN - Brooklyn residents are taking notice of city-sponsored anti-smoking ads.

The commercials are part of the NYC Health Department’s Quit Smoking campaign.

Some Brooklyn residents believe the ads are effective, while others find them too graphic.

"We've all been bombarded with those messages," said resident Liz Graves. "But at the end of the day, I think people are only going to quit smoking if they're absolutely ready."
