BROOKLYN - A Gravesend family is asking for help after their 2-year-old dog ran away on Sunday. 

Renata Muniz, 29, says her husband took their Maltese Yorkie mix Cookie for a walk when she escaped. 

Muniz says she received a call Monday night from a woman who said she saw two young men with a dog that looked like Cookie in the parking lot of Lincoln High School. She was told the dog was going to be taken to a nearby shelter.

"We went to every shelter, every animal clinic, every veterinarian place and nobody has heard or seen nothing," Muniz said.

The family has been posting fliers around the neighborhood and on social media.
