BROOKLYN - Residents in Gravesend say they're outraged after finding syringes littering the sidewalk in front of their homes this morning.

The tenants on West 7th Street say that the needles have since been cleared and no longer pose an immediate health risk, but that their trash problems aren't over. They say rodent-infested garbage is an ongoing problem in the apartment building.

A cleanup crew gave the building owner an estimate today on how much it would cost to get rid of all of the trash. They say the owner wants it cleaned up as soon as possible, but residents say they're still skeptical about how long it will take.
