BROOKLYN - The Green-Wood Cemetery is marking its 175-year anniversary with several celebrations throughout the year.
The cemetery is a popular tourist spot that attracts 300,000 visitors each year.
Jeff Richman, a Green-Wood Cemetery historian, says visitors like to browse the famous tombstones, which include that of Leonard Bernstein. Tourists also visit an area called Battle Hill, where part of the American Revolution was fought.
The cemetery’s annual Memorial Day concert will be held May 27.
