Gridlock days signal start of holiday season

The Department of Transportation has signaled the start of the holiday season Friday with the first of nine gridlock days.Drivers are also advised to stay

BROOKLYN - The Department of Transportation has signaled the start of the holiday season Friday with the first of nine gridlock days.

Drivers are also advised to stay off the roads on Nov. 25, Dec. 2, 4, 11, 16, 17, 18 and 23. On these days, making turns will be prohibited at select locations.

The DOT will also impose an embargo on all non-emergency construction during gridlock days, which will be strictly enforced.
