BROOKLYN - A number of trees in Prospect Park are dying and officials say grillers are to blame.

They say that once people are done grilling, they dump their hot coals next to the trees and the heat kills the trees' roots.

Officials say that they have begun placing signs near the grills to warn people about dumping their coals near trees.
