Groundbreaking held for affordable housing project

BROOKLYN - Ground has been broken today on a new affordable housing complex that will be built on the property of the Kings County Hospital Center in Flatbush.Camba Gardens is a 209-unit building that will replace two vacant structures on the Albany Avenue campus. The complex will be energy-efficient. Most of the apartments will house people who were homeless and families with special needs. The rest will go to low-income families. Camba Gardens will cost $61 million to construct. Officials say the project is expected to create 250 jobs.
