BROOKLYN - One group wants witnesses to report accidents on its website as a way of keeping the streets safe.

Transportation Alternatives says many accidents go unnoticed and unreported, which is why the organization is urging people to go online and map crashes as they see them in real time. The website is called CRASH stories.

A spokesperson for the group says elected officials need to hear New Yorkers articulating that streets are not as safe as they should be. The site works as simply as marking the location and details of an accident and adding the crash "story" to the map.

Officials from Transportation Alternatives say they want the website to be an added resource to the Department of Transportation.
