BROOKLYN - The organization Equality for Flatbush demanded change during a rally Saturday in what they call the worst housing crisis to hit New York City.

A crowd made their way down Flatbush Avenue holding signs and calling for justice.

Many who have been living in Flatbush and East Flatbush say they are being pushed out due to inflated rent prices. They also say businesses are catering to high-income people, stopping residents from contributing to the local economy.

"People are being displaced, people can't afford to live here," said one demonstrator. "They're selling things for more than they cost in Park Slope. The people from this neighborhood obviously can't shop there."

Equality for Flatbush, which organized the event, hopes the large turnout can force change.
