BROOKLYN - A new group is working to secure the future of the Slave Theater, which has been an artistic mainstay in Bed-Stuy for more than a century.

New Brooklyn Theater launched a kickstarter campaign and raised $15,000 in just four days for the Fulton Street property.

Slave Theater has been vacant and facing legal battles, including foreclosure, since 1998.
