BROOKLYN - A Brooklyn gang member with reported ties to rapper Bobby Shmurda was sentenced Tuesday to nearly 99 years to life in prison.

GS9 member Rashid Derissant, 24, was convicted of killing a rival gang member at an East Flatbush bodega in 2013. Prosecutors said Derissant was linked to gang warfare from Brooklyn to Miami.

Prosecutors also said Derissant shot an innocent bystander outside her home in 2014.

Shmurda, whose real name is Ackquille Pollard, is scheduled to be tried on conspiracy and other charges in September.
