WINDSOR TERRACE - The 27 guinea pigs found abandoned in Prospect Park over the weekend are in need of new loving homes.

The Sean Casey Animal Rescue says that it received a call on Saturday that dozens of guinea pigs were found in boxes on Ocean Avenue outside Prospect Park. The rescue team spent hours rounding up all 27 of the guinea pigs in the park and brought them back to the rescue center on East Third Street.

News 12 Brooklyn is told that all the guinea pigs are healthy and doing just fine.

The female guinea pigs are currently being spayed and the males will soon be neutered.
