BROOKLYN - The Brownsville Recreation Center says it has rooms filled with public donations but is having trouble getting the aid to those who need help.

The center has had hundreds of boxes stocked up for months, but says it can't find an organization willing to take the donations to Haiti.

A representative for the center says the silver lining may be that since it has been several months since the devastating earthquake hit, many have forgotten and a fresh influx of aid could be really useful.

All of the items the Brownsville Recreation Center has been keeping are non-perishable.

Officials are hoping that an organization will reach out to them with in the next few weeks.
