BROOKLYN - A new resource center aimed at coordinating Haiti earthquake relief efforts opened inside the Bedford Armory in Crown Height Friday.

City and state leaders gathered at 1579 Bedford Ave. to unveil the New York Haitian Family Resource Center, which will provide a variety of services, from grief counseling to immigration assistance.

"This will be the epicenter for Haiti's relief effort," says Gov. David Paterson.

Supporters of the center say it will be a valuable resource for New Yorkers of Haitian descent who feel powerless in the aftermath of the earthquake.
