Healthy bodegas initiative makes progress

BROOKLYN - More bodegas in Brooklyn are carrying healthy choices as part of the city?s healthy bodega initiative.

The program tries to ensure participating bodegas carry fresh fruits, vegetables and milk. Stores in the program say they are seeing an increase in customers who make healthy choices.

The New York City Health Department says although progress has been made, it plans more community outreach to make residents aware of the program.
