Heat help program gets boost in funds

BROOKLYN - ? The Home Energy Assistance Program has received extra funding, so those savings will be passed on to Brooklyn residents.

The income levels for those who want emergency assistance to help pay for heating has increased, which means more families can take advantage. Previously, a family of four with an income up to $45,312 would qualify for the benefit. Now, the income could be as much as $56,635 to qualify.
