BROOKLYN - Rain came and went throughout the day Tuesday, and many Brooklyn residents were outside enjoying the bits of sunshine with umbrellas in hand.

News 12 meteorologists warned residents to brace themselves for more on-and-off showers into Tuesday evening.

In Coney Island, residents said the sunshine between showers came as a pleasant surprise, although a family visiting from the United Kingdom said they actually preferred the rain.

All residents were encouraged to drive slowly on the roads and to wear weather appropriate gear.

People heading to the airport were also encouraged to check their flight schedules for possible delays.
