BROOKLYN - Heavy rains caused slick roadways and flash flooding across parts of Brooklyn Thursday.

Residents of Kings County experienced large puddles at intersections and sidewalks following a flood advisory. Two lanes of the Belt Parkway were blocked at one point, creating massive traffic backups.

Drivers are encouraged to use caution on the road because even when the rain recedes, the ground remains slippery. Visibility is also a concern.

News 12 Brooklyn spoke with residents who say they don't mind the torrential downpours but are more concerned with the humidity.

News 12 Brooklyn meteorologists say the rain will end overnight with temperatures in the 60s.

Friday is expected to be clear and comfortable with highs from the upper 70s to low 80s. There may be possible rain showers both Saturday and Sunday.
