BROOKLYN - High school students from across the borough gathered for a competition pitting robot against robot. Students were given six weeks to design, build and test their robots' skills of lifting, pushing and racing for the annual FIRST Robotics Regional Championships in Manhattan. Participants say they've learned valuable skills from the competition. "I've learned important electronic skills," says Adam Cohen, a team leader from Morris High School. "It's taught me what I want to do with my life." About 64 teams took part in the science and technology competition. The top six schools from the region will head to Atlanta in a couple weeks for the International Robotics Championship.
