THE BRONX - The men credited with founding hip-hop are celebrating the 40th birthday of the genre this week.

A ceremony was held at City Hall Wednesday to mark the occasion.

The pioneers are also proposed a hip-hop history museum at the Kingsbridge Armory in the Bronx.

Councilman Fernando Cabrera, who represents the district around the armory, says any decision on if the museum can be built there will be up to the armory's board.
