BROOKLYN BRIDGE PARK - The historic Baylander, a Vietnam War-era naval vessel, docked at Brooklyn Bridge Park Saturday.

After the war, the ship was converted for use in helicopter training and remained active until 2011.

Patrons will be able to visit the ship at Pier 5 for free over the summer.

Al Trenk, an aviation specialist and philanthropist, helped set up the visit through his charitable Trenk Family Foundation, which now owns the vessel.
