Historic Hinsch's Cafe closes its doors

BAY RIDGE - A legendary Bay Ridge cafe has closed down after serving the community for more than 60 years.

Hinsch's on 5th Avenue was one of the most popular cafes for decades and had Brooklyn's last remaining authentic soda fountain.

A sign posted on the storefront says the lease had expired and the owner decided to not renew it.
